Collective Exhibition “Poetics of Time and Space”
Self-transcendence, inner development on socially appreciated values.
Ecology and resilience nowadays, a subject for reflection considering the consequences of human thought and action: Contra-natura precepts and its physical-mathematical possibilities for science and finance benefit, fantasy and feelings as grip in the face of so much horror. Scarcities that fuel and trigger the artistic works, where reflection should occur or it is intended to.
Art is the record of the events of an era and it is a reflection of what endures later in history, as the truth of a region, a country, a world.
As the Paraguayan critic and curator Ticio Escobar says, “the persistence of the artistic expression, that has escaped unharmed from so many attacks, threats and sentences states the endurance of a necessity that, as it seems, only the poetic moment can face, but not satiate, and it discovers in the art the permanence of a function, perhaps not redeeming, but allied of the human condition, always threatened by adverse forces that modernity itself generates.” (Taken from “Cuadernos Pensamiento y Creación” Año 1 Nº 2, Unearte).
Promoting a speech full of color, identity, life, the eternal search of balance, space management and its possibilities from the imaginary; masks, feelings and tolerance, landscape and decoration, these bonds give the audience a clear vision of the expressive needs of the artists represented here.
When it comes to art, it is a representation of what sensitizes the creative emotionally and intellectually, that impulse that comes from his/her surroundings or imaginary, can trigger a need for research and expression that consolidates in the exercise of the visual art.
“The poet does not confer the past of his image upon me and yet his image immediately takes root in me. The communicability of an unusual image is a fact of great ontological significance.” Gaston Bachelard, 1957.
Poetics studies literary speech and is linked to visual reference from literature expressive resources and it reveals them in the image.
Language is flexible and it only makes reference to what is specific and/or singularly observed, from a descriptive perspective. Nevertheless, each creator has come up with a personal method that allows him/her to make interesting contributions to its process and, on occasion, to the visual arts.
The curator connects proposals in a collective exhibition to create a guideline from her particular vision and line of research. Thus, this is the origin of this exhibition, which intends to provide the spectator a coherent vision that promotes reflection about the proposals presented from a poetics of time and space perspective. In this occasion, sculptures and paintings of Venezuelan artists are exhibited so they can be appreciated with detail.
