Peran Erminy will lecture on art and nature
Within the framework of the exhibition called Organicarte, through which Ricardo Gil integrates plants and flora as an artistic proposal of frames and volumes, the critic and expert on visual arts Peran Erminy will offer a lecture in art and nature next Sunday January 25th, from 11:00 am in Galpon 15 of Centro de Arte Los Galpones.
Peran Erminy will present a subject he considers infinite and reachable from many perspectives, which he will approach from the presence of nature in the history of painting, the manifestation of ecological architecture and the longing for the lost paradise. The disenchantment of the urban world crushing natural realms, the imaginary gardens like the hanging gardens of Babylon until the expulsion of men from the Paradise are some of the aspects Peran Erminy will address in his lecture, which will be illustrated by picture projection.
The exhibition of the landscapist Ricardo Gil Mendoza is composed by a selection of pieces that strive to bring upon the beholder his interest on nature and to raise his awareness on his relation with the environment, as the author himself explains.
“Any of the pieces displayed here ‘belong’ to the Author, but to the person that holds it as its own and establishes a connection with it, bearing in mind the essential elements in nature: Soil, as the support and provider of nutrients allowing the development of living beings; Air, as plants breathe… during the day they transform our waste, carbon dioxide into oxygen which they share with us at night; Water: composing between 75% and 90% of plants, like ourselves they need it in specified amounts, frequency and form; Fire: radiation and hours of exposure to the sun, the energy source in the right extent… All these aspects are to be considered when locating a piece of work… But we can also appreciate how all living things seek to adapt to their environment and hold on to life… where intuition endows more help that reason…” he states.
Peran Erminy’s lecture shall be held this Sunday January 25th, from 11:00 am in the exhibition Organizarte (sic) of Ricardo Gil, which will be opened to the public until February 1st, in G15 of Centro de Arte Los Galpones, located at Avenida Avila con 8va transversal in Los Chorros, from Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
